I really hope that you caught Obama’s speech he made in Boston as he accepted the annual Profile in Courage Award. He talked about how doing the right thing can come at a cost, reminding us of the people of congress who sacrificed their chances of reelection to stand up and do what they felt was the right thing to do in bringing about the ACA.
“I hope that current members of Congress recall that it actually doesn’t take a lot of courage to aid those who are already powerful, already comfortable, already influential. But it does require some courage to champion the vulnerable and the sick and the infirm — those who often have no access to the corridors of power.”
I think it would be so easy to say that of course Obama has disagreements with what you and your administration is trying to do. It would be so easy to write it all off by saying he’s a Democrat, you’re a Republican and the priorities you hold and how you execute your plans are going to be worlds apart. For those that would use those as excuses, I would love to hear the reasons on why Bush Junior can’t seem to find himself agreeing with you ether.
Long before Obama’s speech even took place, Bush has verbalized his criticism of you and what and how your administration is handling things.
At what point do you wake up and see that something isn’t right and things really need to change?
