“The ear of the leader must ring with the voices of the people.” – Woodrow Wilson
I do not consider myself an expert in political or social matters. I don’t even think I have even done anything remarkable or noteworthy politically or socially.
Regardless, even as an commonplace US citizen, I have opinions and concerns I am perfectly within my rights to express.
I of course share my opinions etc. over the usual social media outlets, but to be honest, I find very little pleasure and or satisfaction in that. I often question whether or not I am even doing anything productive or of value.
Then, I saw a video clip of Donald Trump making a statement about how nobody called to complain about his construction revival of the Keystone XL and the Dakota Access oil pipelines and it really outright irked me.
I thought, there is no way in hell anyone could even get through to the President at the White House even if they had tried to call. It really began to hit me, that I would certainly LOVE an open line to talk to the President to tell them about my opinions and concerns as they run this country.
Being a person of action, I decided to try and commit myself to one letter a day to the President. I don’t know if they will be read, but I certainly won’t let that stop me from trying to get my voice heard.
